Daiya Supreme Pizza – Food Review!

I’ve been traveling for work this week, and I got home just after midnight last night. With the stress of travel and meetings, and just a few hours of sleep in the last few days, I didn’t feel like doing much of anything at all – including cooking. Times like this is when I lean on my trusty quick wins!

Quick and simple safe foods aren’t as easy to come by, especially ones that please the whole household. I have learned to appreciate the convenience of popping a pizza into the oven and having a solid meal just a short while later. When it comes to pizzas that are top 8 free, the choices are severely limited.

Daiya is most popularly known for its dairy free cheese, but they also make pizzas and some other products! Our favorite products of from their lineup that’s top 8 free is definitely their selection of pizzas. We’ve tried every flavor of theirs we can get ahold of.

In my house we each have our favorite flavor of Daiya pizza, the Supreme one is definitely mine. I appreciate the fresh tastes of the peppers and onions. The mushrooms don’t have an overwhelming flavor and I feel like it tastes as close to a standard pizza as possible.

Their Supreme pizza is gluten free, dairy free and free of the other top allergens as well. This pizza is an abundance of red and green peppers, mushrooms, red onions, meatless sausage, and of course dairy free cheese on top of a thin crisp pizza crust. The tomato sauce isn’t too heavy or too light and provides a good compliment of flavor to the rest of the vegetables.

When baking this I will add some slices of pepperoni to it, about 10 to 12, because the vegetarian meats just don’t have the same kick that standard pepperoni does and I am not looking to avoid meat. If you’re vegetarian, or not a fan of pepperoni, then this pizza could also be spiced up with some red pepper flakes !

My local grocer carries a few Daiya products, including a few flavors of their pizzas. I’ve seen this brand of pizzas at larger grocery stores as well and they always appear to sell for about $9 a pizza. At this price I try to keep a few in my freezer at all times. They aren’t a weekly staple for us, but definitely make those long days and weeks a little more bearable.
