Hot Turkey & Cheese Sandwiches

The next best thing I like to make after my hamburger sliders is my baked hot turkey & cheese sandwiches! These are full sized, quick to make, minimal effort, but high in flavor and toasty sandwiches perfect for a busy weeknight!

For these you’ll need about 3/4 to 1 lb of sliced turkey. I would recommend going with the full pound then you can save any extra for other sandwiches later on. Be sure to get thinly sliced to get multiple layers of delicious turkey on these sandwiches.

I always go with sliced provolone cheese for my hot turkey sandwiches, because it melts amazingly and add a subtle flavor while keeping the turkey moist. It melts and gives the perfect cheesy string pull and I always love that part as well. I highly recommend using provolone but if you want another then Swiss is always a crowd pleasing cheese as well.

Aside from that, a little garlic butter to add some delicious toasty flavor to the buns and you’re ready to go!

To start use a full package of 8 hamburger buns. I place all of the bottoms of the buns into an 11×13 baking pan then layer on the delicious. First I do two layers of turkey on each bun. Then a slice of provolone on each bun as well. The third layer is a layer of turkey again, I try not to focus them on the bun placement this time overlapping the slices and getting about 1 1/2 slices per bun.

Then top with the top side of the buns and brush on some garlic butter. You can let any extra garlic butter fall in between the bread to flavor some of the turkey in between as well.

This will bake covered in aluminum foil at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake another 5 – 7 minutes until the tops are golden brown.
