Oven BBQ Wings ‐ Top 8 Allergy Free!

BBQ Wings make the perfect appetizer for any get together, it takes minimal effort and satisfies everyone. It’s the perfect thing to bring along to a potluck! This recipe will make one pound of wing pieces but this recipe is super easy to double, or more, which I do often for dinners. On days when I don’t feel like slaving over the stovetop I make wings and a vegetable or pasta side and no one is ever disappointed!

This recipe in itself is almost naturally Top 8 allergy free. Using baking powder instead of flour to create the coating for the chicken helps keep it gluten free (make sure to always check your labels on ingredients to make sure the ones you’re purchasing is safe). It bubbles up on the skin of the chicken and helps to create a nice coating for the sauce to stuck to, but doesn’t get crispy.

The BBQ sauce that I use is also allergy free, this has been my favorite go-to BBQ sauce since I was a child and if we weren’t having home BBQ sauce this is the one we had. Imagine my happiness when I realized that the KC Masterpiece Hickory Brown Sugar sauce was also safe for the allergy free meals! If you prefer another BBQ sauce, I’d recommend checking the labels as I’m not familiar with what others may include. This sauce was a main staple on all the shelves of the area I grew up in in Missouri/Kansas, now I can only find this sauce at my local grocery stores but not the Walmart in this area, so if your usual store doesn’t have it I’d recommend shopping around a little to see if someone else does.

To get the wings a nice perfect texture all over use a wire baking rack on top of a baking sheet. I usually coat the sheet with aluminum foil to keep it cleaner as well. Then coat the wire rack and everything with a safe high temp cooking spray, I like to use avocado oil spray, and you’re ready to go!
