Does anyone not love tacos? In this day and age tacos have become a staple in the US diet. Thankfully, Mexican restaurants are some of the most likely to be allergy friendly or at the very least gluten-free. But what about if you want to make it at home?
Packaged taco seasoning is likely to not be allergy friendly. I’ve seen seasonings with gluten, soy, and even dairy! When I did find a brand we could use, it didn’t seem to taste as good as what we wanted. The best fix? To make my own top 8 free taco seasoning!
As long as the seasonings you pick up are allergy friendly (always check the ingredients even on seasonings!!!) then you should be good to go with this recipe. Now, I refer to this as “taco seasoning” but really I use it on all manners of American-Mexican dishes from burritos to enchiladas and all the things inbetween.
I love making this seasoning in a clear container. As the layers come together I always think it looks like the high desert sands and can’t help but love the way it looks!

Shaken up it has a nice sandy color!
